Field Trip to Ikes!

Couple of days ago mikedee showed me this review of this sammich shop in the castro called "ikes place" We were given the task of guinea pigs to try it before he comes back.
Well yesterday i get a wakeup call from mike tom, telling me to get up cause we are going to Ikes. Next thing i know Al is outside waiting for me, and i still didn't even shower yet. hahaha

Anyways we found it with no problem, the place was hella small, event he staff inside were elbow to elbow. All the tables were outside, and we got lucky cause it did't rain. They had a large variety of specialty sandwiches all with funny names like:"Fat Bastard","Jeries' BIG Meat Sandwich","We're JUST Friends", etc.

I myself got the "Nacho Boy" which had Hot Roast Beef, Mushrooms, Avocado, Swiss. It was quite good, bread was fresh as well as the rest of ingredients. As a friend once told me "The meatt... iss sooo juiccy.." The selection of drinks was pretty good, i got myself good ole jones soda, but i wish i saw that grape soda!

Staff was also helpful and friendly, the owner even came out to see if everything was alright. He saw the canons, and asked us if we were gonna post pic's on yelp. haha

Jenn was craving ice creme, so she treated us to Mitchells Ice creme a few blocks away. I think i saw it on food tv before. It was hard to choose a flavor cause they all sounded hella good. I bite the bullet and got new york cherry. Ive always liked cherry ice cremes, and theirs didn't disappoint.

Anyways i wish some of the pics came out better of the sammiches, it smelled soo good, i was patient with my pics. The smell was too intoxicating, so i took a quick pic and went to work with the sammich. Also tried some different editing techniques, might be a bit over processed for some, but i like the end result. Enjoy

err the order of the pics is messed up, but im too lazy to rearrange them.. sorry
